My name is Caroline Mitchell Carrico. I’m a writer, editor, and podcaster living in my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. I’m a professional historian who has worked in Memphis’s cultural sector for over 15 years, and I love sharing Memphians’ unique stories. I enjoy working in the public humanities because it allows me to participate in projects that allow us to ask hard questions and help us see our commonalities.

I read your interesting article on Joseph W Martin, the missing cotton broker. The article ends with a promised part 2, but I can’t find it anywhere. Did you finish part 2 and is it available?
Thanks, Wayne
Hi Wayne, I haven’t finished Part 2. I wrote the first part for StoryBoard Memphis, but my tenure there ended before I could write the second article. I’ve got the research and hope to finish it one day. When I do, I’ll send you an email! Best, Caroline
